Protecting you from the frightening side of lightning

As we are all aware of the damage that can be caused by a strike, lightning protection is considered to be an all but an essential feature to have added to a commercial or residential property. Whereas in most cases houses in the UK are designed and built to offer as much insulation as possible against damage from a lightning strike, one can never take too many precautions. Lightning strikes are unpredictable and random, and have the potential to cause a lot of expensive and inconvenient damage if the right lightning protection systems are not in place.

Over the years we have come to be seen as the UK’s leading lightning rod installers. Whereas one can never be offered the protection that ensures you are never struck by lightning, it is possible to ensure that the powerful, damaging effects of lightning are neutralised as much as possible, with the electric charge of the strike being deferred and deflected. No one can promise to make you or your property entirely safe from a lightning strike, but we can assure you that our approach and our systems make you as safe as possible.

Our work as lightning rod installers has seen us work across the whole of the country and even further afield in other European locations. This has allowed us to gain valuable insights and knowledge into which systems work best in the different regions of our nation. Although it is true that generally the southern parts of England are at more risk than anywhere else of lightning strikes, we have heard accounts and reports of it happening everywhere, from Land’s End all the way through to John O’Groats and all places in between. In our experience, someone assuming that they don’t really need lightning protection because they get very few storms is a dangerous view, as just one lightning strike is enough to cause great damage.

In terms of the damage a lightning strike can do, it is related to the electricity in it. There are 10 billion Watts of electric in each strike. If a lightning bolt strikes a telephone or electricity cable supplying your home, the likely outcome is a power surge that not even the best of plug surge protection kits could act to stop. In all probability a lightning strike affecting you in this way would break all of the electrical equipment in your home. In extreme cases, the surge can cause a fire to spark.

We are committed to helping people across the UK get the most reliable form of lightning protection put into place at their property. Our expert services will ensure that you are safeguarded as far as possible against the ruinous damage these strikes of nature can cause.
